In our third assignment, we were able to delve into cultural differences, using the point of view of students who studied abroad, and fully emerged themselves into that culture. I specifically decided to look through the eyes of a Temple student who travelled to Japan, and even in this day and age, was able to witness some of the cultural differences between the two nations. I especially enjoyed this article, because of how much it has tied into past assignments. The difference of values, and the difference of personalities are so very different, regardless of how much we share in technology and education. I find this to be really beneficial to me, as Japan has always been a place I have wanted to visit. It almost prepares me, knowing that no matter what century and decade it maybe, differences will always be noticed, and that feeling like an outsider is inevitable, and something to get comfortable with, or else it will ruin your experience and your outlook towards a different culture.
