I am currently doing my Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering hoping to graduate in December 2020. I am a Research Assistant with the department and we are working on Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters. I\u2019m very interested in robotics, control systems, and mechatronics. In my free time, I like to go fishing and hiking. My dream job would be at NASA or SpaceX as a test engineer.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Salih Sarp<\/strong>: Hi! I am Salih Sarp, I am pursuing a PhD at Electrical and Computer Engineering at Old Dominion University. I have electronics and communications background. As a PhD researcher, my focus is development models using artificial Intelligence and computer vision. Currently, we developed a model which detects and segments the floodwater on roadways at Transportation Research Institute. Embedded systems, machine learning and their applications also amazed me. In my free time, I like to play abstract strategy games such as Abalone and Quoridor.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td>Spyridoula Tsouganatou<\/strong>: Hi, my name is Spyridoula Tsouganatou and I am a Ph.D. student at Old Dominion University. My bachelor was in primary education and my Master\u2019s was in Higher education leadership and administration. I am passionate about the field of education. Currently, I am a Research Assistant at the Darden College of Education conducting research in STEM education. In the future, I want to get involved more with computer science and cybersecurity.<\/td><\/tr>
\"\"<\/td> Trevon Sanford<\/strong> \u2013 Hello, my name is Trevon Sanford and I am a sophomore at Old Dominion University. I am in the modeling and simulation major at Old Dominion with the goal of leaving with a bachelor\u2019s degree in modeling and simulation. I have yet to declare a minor but am considering minoring in information technology to have an even better understanding of computers and the software related problems that can occur in my field. I am currently focused on helping with STEM related projects as STEM was not introduced to me until my junior year in high school. <\/td><\/tr>

I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in mechanical systems and design. I am a mechanical engineering co-op at Newport News Shipbuilding, and have been for two years. Along with working at NNS, I am an Undergraduate Student Researcher (an Office of Naval Research funded project) at ODU. In my spare time I participate in outreach activities related to mechatronic education and research related to mechatronics. I also enjoy educating and mentoring young STEM students in robotics and engineering.<\/td><\/tr>
