Meet the Monarchs Competing in the 2020 Olympics

After an additional year-long wait, the world’s attention has turned to Toyko, where the 2020 Olympic Games are underway. Monarch fans have extra incentive to watch the action, with four ODU alumni competing on the world stage in the quest for gold.

• 2018 Conference USA Golfer of the Year
• Led ODU to its first-ever C-USA conference title

Terry Hayes ’97 MSEd
Wheelchair Fencing (United States)

• Former ODU lacrosse player
• Served in the Army and was an early education special education teacher
• Will compete in Category B Epee and Saber events at Paralympics, which run August 24 – September 5
• Her first event begins Wednesday, August 25
