She is a Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Mechatronics Lab and leads faculty for the Mechatronics Systems area of specialization.\u00a0 Dr.Jovanovic conducts research in the areas of engineering education, broadening participation, mechatronics, digital thread, and engineering graphics. She has funded projects in broadening participation from National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Research, and Virginia Space Grant Consortium.\n\nODU BLAST Administration Personnel<\/strong>\n\"\"<\/a>Ms. Julie Back, M.Ed. <\/strong>STEM Education Program Specialist, Virginia Space Grant Consortium. coordinates and lead all aspects of BLAST (Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology). Before this position, she worked as a Master Teacher for Virginia Space Grant Consortium’s Virginia Earth Science Systems Scholars (VESSS) Program. Before that, she was a Teacher Leader, Curriculum Writer, and Climate Coach for Hampton City Schools, Hampton, VA, Instructional Designer for Virginia National Board Certified Teachers Network.\n\nODU Administration Support<\/strong>\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\nBen Stuart, Ph.D.<\/a><\/strong> is Dean of Batten College of Engineering and Technology. Dean Stuart holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and is a registered professional environmental engineer in Ohio.\u00a0He has led or co-led more than $26 million worth of research projects externally funded by federal, state and industrial partners. His research in algal biofuels has led to three patents, as well as his participation as CTO in ECO2Capture, a start-up company focusing on developing and integrating technologies in the algae cultivation and air pollution control markets. He is also the author or co-author of 50 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Stuart’s current research interests include biofuels production from waste and renewable feedstocks, and nutrient cycling in algae biomass processing systems.\n\n \n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\nDean Gale Dodge, Ph.D.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>is a Dean of College of Sciences at Old Dominion University. She received her B.A. from Princeton University and her M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. She is an experimental nuclear physicist, studying the protons and neutrons which make up the atomic nucleus.\u00a0 Dr. Dodge served a two-year term as a program manager at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Arlington, Virginia.\u00a0 In 2015, she was selected by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia for an Outstanding Faculty Award.\u00a0 She has been active in efforts to improve the teaching of introductory physics courses and was one of the co-founders of the Physics Learning Center, where students can drop in for tutoring help.\n\n\n
