The Student Government Association (SGA)<\/strong> is the student government at Old Dominion University <\/strong>(ODU). The SGA recommends, promotes, and advises on programs and issues related to the student body to the administration of ODU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When Old Dominion was a part of the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mar<\/strong>y<\/a>, there were separate Women’s and Men’s student governments from 1930 through the 1950s. The Student Senate was formed in the 1950s and continued through 2004, when the name was changed to the Student Government Association (SGA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
