Science Building, circa 1950-1959<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Located at the corner of Bolling Avenue and Hampton Boulevard,\u00a0William B. Spong, Jr. Hall<\/strong><\/a>, familiarly Spong Hall, houses the Department of Human Resources<\/strong>,\u00a0Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0the\u00a0Institute\u00a0of Internal Auditors<\/b>, among others.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

Completed in 1954, Spong Hall was previously known as the Science Building and housed the\u00a0Department of Biology<\/b>,\u00a0Department of Chemistry<\/strong>,\u00a0Department of Physics<\/strong>, and the\u00a0Department of Engineering. Situated next to the Administration Building,\u00a0now\u00a0Alfred B. Rollins, Jr. Hall<\/strong><\/a>, the Science Building also included a snack bar, cafeteria, and the bookstore. The building was renamed Spong Hall in 1996 in honor of Old Dominion Interim President William B. Spong, Jr<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
