CYSE 301
Cybersecurity Techniques and Operations
The course I took was focused on cybersecurity and network analysis. Throughout the course, I engaged in various activities and assignments to deepen my understanding of cybersecurity techniques and operations. The weekly labs were hands-on activities that required us to dive deep into the Linux operating system, understand its security mechanisms, and implement best practices to protect against potential threats.
Through these assignments, I was able to develop hands-on experience in configuring security settings on a Linux system, which enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of security mechanisms and best practices. It allowed me to practice critical thinking and problem-solving as I had to analyze potential vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures. This experience also reinforced the value of proactive security measures and the importance of staying updated with the latest security practices and techniques.
The lab assignments in the course focused on cybersecurity and network analysis and were designed to provide hands-on experience with Linux and various tools and techniques related to cybersecurity. In these labs, I was tasked with practical exercises such as configuring security settings, analyzing network traffic, performing packet analysis, and evaluating vulnerabilities. These lab assignments are worth including because they allowed me to apply theory into practice, deepen my understanding of cybersecurity concepts, and develop important practical skills in a controlled and supportive environment. By working in these labs, I gained valuable experience that will be transferable to real-world scenarios, enabling me to contribute effectively to cybersecurity.
