Review the articles linked with each individual motive. Rank the motives from 1 to 7 as the motives that you think make the most sense (being 1) to the least sense (being 7). Explain why you rank each motive the way you rank it.

After Reviewing the seven individuals’ motives, I came to an order I believe makes the best sense. The order I’ve decided to go with is money, recognition, revenge, politics, entertainment, multiple reasons, and lastly boredom. The reason for the order is quite simple, money is the leading drive for all crimes, even those outside of cyberspace. People are more motivated to do a crime if it means they can make a quick buck. Recognition falls second because some people crave attention and if they’re able to commit a cyber crime to get their name or group out to the world then it’s like a mission accomplished to them. Revenge can come into effect in many different ways, maybe an employee got fired or their boss didn’t give them a raise/position they wanted. Whatever the case may be, revenge can lead anyone into the wrong idea. Politics comes third because of the view point I have with it. With politics the richest people have the upper hand, cybercrime comes into effect here when maybe they’re trying to stop a deal from going through or in the recent case i can remember the presidential election was accusing trump of getting fake votes from Russia. Entertainment is fifth just because certain criminals do crimes just for the fun of it and their own entertainment/enjoyment. Multiple reasons goes sixth because hackers could have all these factors into effect when committing their cybercrime. So it’s a little harder to pinpoint the exact cost with this one. And lastly we have boredom, i believe this is last solely because for someone to commit a crime you got to have some motive for it. I’ve never seen a crime where someone admits to doing it just because they’re bored.
