Spotting real websites vs fake ones is starting to become a difficult task in this era of the cyber world. People have now gained the skills in order to mimic real websites in order to execute their scam as needed. Spotting fake websites can be hard to do but here’s just a few things I look out for when trying to detect one. First and foremost I look for font size and color contrast. If the website is hard to read, I don’t go through it. Second, I look into when the last time the website was updated/accessed by the admin and try to see if it was recent or not. Third , I look into the information being told to me, I try to match it with other sources to see if they have the same thing said or not. Now if it is a website I want to purchase something from i try to see if they use PayPal or not .If PayPal isn’t an option I automatically don’t purchase from it. I’ll even take it as far as contacting friends to see if they’ve ever bought something from the website or heard of it before. But in all, locating fake websites isn’t a easy task, in order to maintain personal security and private information you just have to be cautious and monitor every move you make on media.
