Digital Forensics with the Social Sciences

After watching the Ted Talk from David Teo on digital forensic it gave me even more idea of what I want to do with my career in cybersecurity. To start off David was first an accountant but he was pretty decent when it came to being able to use technology. He made the leap into the cyber world when the job he first had was looking for someone to fill a gap in their IT department. David decided to apply and didn’t look back at all. Shortly after he was granted the opportunity to join a team in Australia and begin his digital forensic journey. Now Digital Forensic isn’t a job where they sit at a desk 24/7 in an office solving problems. This Job allows him to go into companies and other businesses and source the issue without anyone ever knowing what he’s doing. They are able to sit down, look at a security system and surf through the networks within the building to get to the heart of the problem. Also, they are looking at data in such a detailed way that they’ll never find the exact answer in just a day or two. It’s been instances where it has taken them several weeks or even months to find out what’s going on. But being in this field allows for you to be on the good side of the cyber world with hopes to solve new cases daily.
