I chose nursing because I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, but I did not want to go through too many extra years of school.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Experience: I have volunteered at a few hospitals in the PET\/CT, MRI, and PT departments. I have also shadowed OR nurses and surgeons in the OR. When volunteering I mostly just sanitized equipment after patients were done with their visit, and I brought patients in from the waiting room. This experience gave me some interaction with patients which will help me when I need to talk to patients in the future. Shadowing OR nurses allowed me to see what a day of work is like for a nurse in the OR.
