This old couple believes just because you stay in a gated community; it automatically means you are safe. Yes, you have the extra protection, but it doesn’t guarantee safety.

2

We had to fill out the two surveys about attitude and behavior for the archive. The attitude questions pertained to keeping yourself and others safe. The behavior survey was more of a study for you to engage in things you as a person agree to do. And when we struggle with our attitudes, that’s where we experience dissonance.

I would say something that exemplifies cognitive dissonance is that I would love to help children in abusive homes. I could probably in the future, but I can’t now. I don’t have the proper resources to do such a monumental task.

I chose this image because, it exemplified how everyone wants to do everything but can’t because we are busy.

3

For my top artifact to archive, I archive module 14, the Subjective Happiness Scale, which is to report yourself or someone else’s self-happiness. I answered each question 100% truthfully, but after doing the scale questions, I noticed most people would never put 1-3 or even 4. Most people will put a 5 or 6 and keep it moving, so others don’t bother them on why they chose what they chose.

I say this because there were times when I felt down, but I still circled an ok score, so I showed I had some sort of happiness in my life. Another thing is I don’t think a scale like this is reliable because many people hide how they feel deep down. Overall I enjoyed this assignment, and I’m glad I got to answer every question truthfully.

https://www.theatlantic.com/live/pursuit-of-happiness/

The 2020 documentary was very insightful.
