So maybe your first test didn’t go as well as you wanted it to, and that’s okay!
There are so many other assignments and tests left in the semester to help boost your grade. Unfortunately, I can no longer study the day before the test like I did in high school. There is just too much material to keep up with and I know I need to start studying sooner rather than later.
I decided to do some research on the best study tips and here is what I found. See what works best for you…
- Study in 30 minute increments.
- Studies have shown that we retain more information by studying in shorter increments instead of studying for 4 hours straight.
- Find a quiet area with a desk to study.
- It took me a while to change my study habits of clicking through powerpoint slides laying in bed.
- No more pulling all nighters!
- Exam grades are lower for those who pull all nighters compared to students who get a full 8 hours of sleep.
- Study in groups of 3-4
- Try to “teach” a topic to classmates to know you have mastered the topic
- Bounce thoughts back and forth between group members to clear up any confusion
- Create a To-Do List
- This helps you prioritize what you would like to get done each study session
- Get a planner
- Write down when test, quizzes, and other assignments are due.
- Write out a study plan for each day leading up to your test
