In this digital literacy post, Sara Hughes shared how she lost weight and increased her race times by using different apps and technology. The first app that she started using was My Fitness Pal, which kept track of her weight; this enabled Sara to lose 40 pounds and run her first half marathon. When she found the endomondo app, she was able to better track her running trends over time and avoid math calculations. This enabled her to run faster. The last application that she talked about is Rock my Run, which adjusts her music to her running tempo or heartbeat.

In this digital literacy story, Kelly Howells shared about how and why she upgraded from a flip-phone to a touch screen. Kelly liked her LG Cosmos because it functionally accomplished everything she needed from it. However, when her grandaughter was born, she found that she was struck with envy as the other grandmother was able to get crisper images on her phone. That was when she decided to get an older-model touch-screen phone. She chose a Samsung Gallery 3. In doing so, she had to learn about data and evaluate what would be the best phone plan for her. She also had to get help from a friend to figure out how to work her phone, relating her dificulties to the problems her own mother has with the cable box.
