Ann’s Behavior

            Ann’s behavior was related to the Cyber Security needs, and it was like a bread and butter for the hacker. Hackers are always looking for the ways to access the information, and for that they may be monitoring a user or an organization for a long period of time. One lack of awareness from a user could prove costly. As a human we tend to go for the free products first before the paid products. It is study of human behavior. As a hacker, he/she would send something that will make a person greedy and accept it without inquiring many details. Eventually, a user provides the access of their data to a hacker. Ann’s behavior is a great example for the needs of Cyber Security and demonstrates how cyber-attacks happen around us. Ann is shopping online through www.shoppingcart.com. Moreover, Ann’s all information is stored online in the database of shopping cart including her credit card details, ID, email address to make it convenient and faster. Eventually, she receives an email with a gift voucher included of shopping cart, so she thought it is from the shopping cart. To redeem the voucher, she was required to enter her account information on the prompt. Therefore, she thought it is a legit request, and she entered the details. After a while huge amount of money was wiped out from her account. It was a phishing attack as they have witnessed a third-party access for the account. Nonetheless, she could have verified the gift voucher with shopping cart before entering her details on the prompt to avoid the phishing attack.
