I am a Professor of French and International Studies. I am most interested in cinema, poetry and contemporary novels. I am also a Jules Verne specialist and serve on the board of the North American Jules Verne Society. I also enjoy being a translator of literary works (I have translated books of poetry, contemporary plays, Jules Verne’s last novels and a collection of his unpublished plays, and other novels and meditations). I am most interested in contemporary Quebecois literature and especially poetry. I love collaborating with contemporary Quebecois poets on projects such as our annual ODU-Maison de la Poésie de Montreal poetry festival here in Norfolk and VA Beach. I also co-edit a journal of eco-criticism called Green Humanities. I enjoy getting involved in theatrical productions in NYC (my home town) from time to time as well.
