Organizations can benefit from the NIST Framework depends on the level of guidance an organization takes from the framework. The framework can provide an organization a guideline on the standards of up to date security practices, virtual or physical. It can also be used to improve an organizations current security practices, based of several standards and stages listed in the framework. It can lead to improvements in older or out of date systems and practices as well as more informed employees in regards to the structure of their own security measures. The entire operation of an organization can benefit as well, from the employees at the lowest level to the upper levels of management, shedding light on vulnerabilities currently active or giving new measures of security. In my future workplace, I could use the framework to analyze my organizations security measures and systems currently in place. If something isn’t up to the NIST standard, it could then be addressed or changed by upper levels of management, resulting in a more secure system for the entire organization.
