Write-Up: Roles and Responsibilities

There are many different roles that are vital to a well oiled Information Security team. The Information Security Architect is just one of these important roles.


Information Security Architect
The Information Security Architect is a more senior role that is responsible for a wide range of systems and networks. This position is in charge of creating, maintaining, and updating various systems to ensure all information security requirements are met. Their responsibility is in their title: Architect, they are in charge of creating and building the layout of different information security systems and implementing the proper security measures within the systems. This includes things like making sure the network architecture is properly built to meet the necessary requirements. In addition, the Information Security Architect is there to provide the accurate reference models for the network architecture. Information Security Architects also organize with various system security officers and system owners to ensure that all security controls are properly allocated throughout the organization. Lastly, Information Security Architects make sure that all the correct security controls for information security systems are protected and documented appropriately. (Nieles, et al. 2017)

Conclusion
In closing, every single role outlined in An Introduction to Information Security plays a vital role in protecting an organization’s security and IT infrastructure. The Information Security Architect plays a specifically important role due to their creation and implementation of critical security measures.
