I\u2019m doing well in Chemistry lab because I\u2019ve been completing my pre and post-labs on time. Plus, I\u2019ve been reading the instructions for our labs before going to the lab so that I can fully understand what and what not to do. A class that I identified as needing assistance in, on my Learning Styles Self Assessment is sociology. The changes that I\u2019ve made are revising previous notes taken in class so that I can retain the information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The expectations that I had during college is to become independent and grow out of my old ways of being a teen. Yes, these expectations have come to fruition because I\u2019m on my own in college and I\u2019ve found a way to make money which is braiding hair. My college experience has been different from what I expected because I least expected myself to be outgoing and make friends. My expectations of college life were to be in my dorm 24\/7; eating, doing work, watching movies but it has completely changed. So far, the only thing that has surprised me about my experiences this semester is that my grades are lower. Even though I\u2019m studying, revising, and taking notes in class, it seems that all of my efforts aren\u2019t enough. I haven\u2019t had any tough challenges with moving away to college. The easiest challenge I’ve overcome is being able to go out and actually enjoy my teen years because I didn\u2019t have the opportunity to do these when I was back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I haven\u2019t learned anything new about my intended major that I did not know at the beginning of this semester. My thoughts have not changed about my intended major. I still want to become a dental hygienist. Yes, there\u2019s a major that I want to learn more about. I\u2019m interested in learning more about Nuclear Medicine Technology.
I haven\u2019t had any problem or challenge this semester so there isn\u2019t any resource at ODU that I can utilize to assist me. My friends have definitely helped me this semester. We have study sessions and try to help each other when we\u2019re having difficulties in our classes. I haven’t attended any interest meetings for a club. I feel like I can\u2019t get involved in any club at this moment because I\u2019m still getting used to freshman life and finding my way around things. Hopefully, I\u2019ll explore and join some clubs that I\u2019m interested in next semester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
