About Me

Hello! My name is Kathryn Lange, I usually go by Katie. I am a junior, 23 years old, and a Communications major at Old Dominion University. This is my first semester at ODU and I am a nontraditional student. I graduated from Oscar F. Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia in 2013, and then proceeded to get my Associate’s Degree at Tidewater Community College in Liberal Arts. After I graduated TCC, I took a two-year hiatus from school in order to give myself ample time to decide what degree I wanted to pursue before transferring to a University.

While I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Communications, I have not yet picked a concentration nor a minor. I am looking into possibly minoring in the interdisciplinary minor, World Cultures: Values & Visions. I plan on teaching ESL abroad once I graduate, and am currently looking at programs in South Korea. This course perfectly suits my goals and my fervor for cultures and gaining knowledge about them. The perspective that psychology brings to the study gives an even more in depth look into cultures and their impact on humans and goes hand-in-hand with my career path. I am excited for the insights and assets this course will provide me for the future.
