My name is Diana Tagbor. I am a senior undergraduate student at Old Dominion University, majoring in public health with a minor in human services. I will graduate in Spring 2025. I am passionate about promoting health equity, educating the communities about public health concerns, addressing disparities in maternal health, STDs\/STIs, and foster care transition support. I have a strong interest in health education, data analysis, health policy, and social determinants of health, which aligns with my goal of making a meaningful impact in the community.<\/p>\n
I am completing my internship with the Virginia General Assembly located at 1000 Bank St, Richmond, VA 23219. This is a government-funded organization dedicated to making and changing bills and laws for the betterment of everyone in the state.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n <\/p><\/summary>\n The Virginia General Assembly<\/strong> is the state legislature<\/a> of the Commonwealth of Virginia<\/a>. It is the oldest law-making body in the Western Hemisphere. It became the General Assembly in 1766 with the ratification of the Virginia Constitution. It consists of 100 members classified as Virginia House of Delegates and 40 members classified as Senate. Virginia General Assembly is an important institution in the state government, responsible for creating and passing laws that govern the citizens of Virginia<\/strong>. The organization has made significant changes in reproductive rights and health that have positively impacted women, children, and minorities.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n Kelsey Wilkinson is my preceptor. She plays a crucial role as Old Dominion University\u2019s AVP of State Relations and Health Policy.
