For our last assignment, we were asked a couple of questions about the course and they are what are your relevant takeaways from your time in a sports media classroom? and What things that you have learned do you think will be valuable to your own aspirational sport and/or communication careers? A few takeaways from this class for one I learned way more and went way deeper than I have before in the world of sports. I am a sports fan but not a super fan and don’t know too much about sports so taking this course I learned more about sports than I have before. With our NIL assignment, I learned that I do take leadership when things may seem to be falling apart. For a moment I thought I lost my group when they weren’t responding and doing much so I took over a bit and started communicating effectively the group was super responsive and nice to work with because we all came to an agreement let do the work to be done with it to move on to the next assignments we have to complete. One last takeaway is I was always excited and or eager to come to class because our professor was excited and passionate to come and teach his students. Seeing that attitude twice a week made that class the way it was. What I have learned from this class and what I could take away to a professional realm could be the positive and passionate attitude our professor had to take into any workplace environment I go into. As well as learning how to lead and communicate effectively with others in my surroundings without being too forward and pushy to them. I hope to take the things I have learned and what has been shown to me and take it to many future careers in sports, radio, or marketing and PR.
