For our 1st post we are describing our sport media consumption “diet.” Indicate how our diet, and how we consume it, has changed from five years ago. Predict what changes will occur in the next five years. If I could wave a magic wand and make one change to the sport communication landscape, what would it be? Why? For game days, mostly football, growing up we would have the classic finger foods like sliders, wings, pigs n a blanket, nachos, etc. My diet has changed within the past 5 years because I feel like our tastebuds are always changing so some foods I would eat back then I wouldn’t eat now. As well as I know now more than I did 5 years ago about what foods my stomach can and cannot handle with IBS. My prediction for the next 5 years could be with social media coming into play more and more every game day with more game day food options popping up on my feed for game day food ideas and my family and I will have to try and make them to try out new finger foods or easy to bake foods. Me and my mom love to try and make new things:) If I could have a magic wand and make one change to the sport communication landscape it would be to let me intern for the social media team and eventually a full time job that can help pay for my masters in communications! For real though while I was searching and looking at different sources about what others have to say about sports communicators themselves because I am still learning about sports communications myself through this course, I would change the amount of time sports communicators look into the teams and people on the teams indiudually. Seems like some of the sports communicators don’t know much and they rely on the stats coming in and with that and putting them on the spot sometimes they say things that could be bad for publicity or out of pocket like mentioning race, sex, or homophobic comments. They may not be meaning too offend anyone but with no time of research they can be saying something they shouldn’t or something comes out in the wrong way.
