It seems like a risky use of social media! I wouldn&#8217;t say I was surprised, as I do have a fair amount of time online for communication and entertainment. The items in the scale had me thinking about how easily social media habits can slip into an unhealthy place\u2014the questions about neglecting other activities or using social media to avoid stress come to mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scale&#8217;s ability to provide insight into behavioral patterns that may create problems feels fully true. It captures both emotional dependency and social conflict from having too much time online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, different patterns around the world are likely built through differences in cultural, social, and economic structures. In other areas of the world, technology and social media seem to be integrated into daily life, while cultural access or perceived acceptability, along with the distribution of smartphones and the internet, all limit people&#8217;s access to social media.
