Describe ONE thing you learned in this class that helped you make a connection to other coursework (especially in your field-of-interest within biology/biochemistry).
In Introduction to Immunology, towards the end, we talked about bone marrow. Putting it slightly, bone marrow is the primary lymphoid organ and is the place where a lot of cells mature such as lymphocytes and B cells. In my previous course, Human Anatomy and Physiology I, I learned that bone marrow is a soft fatty tissue found in cavities of bones. The red marrow is the site for blood cell production; the yellow marrow is used for fat storage. In similarity, both courses acknowledge that hematopoiesis (blood production) occurs in the bone marrow. Also, in relation to the similarities, the maturation of lymphocytes and B cells in bone marrow is consistent with its function because they are white blood cells.
