Went to and explored job opportunities at the Cyber job fair at ODU!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Cyber Connections Reflection: <\/strong>After attending the Cyber career connections event, I have to say I\u2019m very satisfied with the impression I had left with potential companies\/employers, and have a good sense of what companies to look for in the future. Of the stands I stopped at, APEX, ManTech, and Children\u2019s Hospital for the King\u2019s Daughters (CHKD) stood out the most. These three stuck out from the rest because of their opportunities for internships, with some being paid, and opportunities to work alongside college, with APEX and ManTech offering more opportunities in Cybersecurity and CHKD offering more opportunities in Information Technology. Although I didn\u2019t learn much about the day-to-day as an intern, the internship opportunities seemed to follow the same basic concept, where you and a group of similar individuals get together to learn the ins and outs of the job, to gain knowledge to put towards certifications, and to work and get hands on experience at a real job in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CyberOPS Reflection:<\/strong> Having gone to the event around 2-3, I had already missed out on the conferences and the speakers, so I cannot speak about those aspects of the event. However, for the CTF thing, I guess I expected the event to be a lot larger than I had anticipated, in a much bigger area; furthermore, when I came and saw small groups working together quietly in a relatively small meeting area, it definitely blew my expectations away and made me feel a little bit more comfortable with the event entirely. The CTF competition was fun, it was very interesting and engaging to communicate with fellow peers in trying to solve the many puzzles that were put in front of us, and a lot of them were very difficult\u2026almost a little too difficult. Only thing that was a bit of a bummer was that many of us didn\u2019t solve much or any of the puzzles, since we were only beginners to the topic of programming, decrypting, hacking, Etc. Regardless, I still had a good time and enjoyed the experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
