That conference marked a key step on NATO\u2019s road to its July 2024 Washington Summit.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/rmaass\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22165\/2024\/06\/Compendium-cover.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"679\" height=\"880\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/rmaass\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22165\/2024\/06\/Compendium-cover.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-407\" style=\"width:208px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/rmaass\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22165\/2024\/06\/Compendium-cover.png 679w, https:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/rmaass\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22165\/2024\/06\/Compendium-cover-231x300.png 231w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, I published an article in NATO&#8217;s OPEN Publications series co-written with two ODU graduate students, Paul Pepi and Jared Sykes. &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/spp_plp\/docs\/open_publication_nato_s_enlargement_an_opportunity?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ\">NATO&#8217;s Enlargement: An Opportunity to Enhance Collective Resilience<\/a>&#8221; examined the concept of alliance resilience, assessed the various effects of NATO&#8217;s post-Cold War enlargements on its resilience, and considered how potential future members (including now-members Finland and Sweden) would affect NATO&#8217;s resilience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have published two pieces of research for NATO.
