Working with the ePortfolio Studio

So I was asked to make an appointment with the ePortfolio center to see if they would be able to help my blog become a bit more cleaner and make it stand out a bit more. Because, it looked a bit more generic than what I had hoped for. Procrastination played a little part in that, but it was also my first time ever using this site and I had to navigate it. The tutorials my professor sent us did help me get a grip on the basics of the sight, but I was still having trouble with the overall layout of the site.

So I met up with someone named Cami who worked at the ePortfolio studio and the experience was overall good. She was very nice and said my site was overall pretty well put together, which is always good to hear from someone else. The overall experience, from making the appointment to getting to talk to her, was quick and helpful.

Now, she did help me understand some things about the website and showed me some tools for use to better my site. The first thing I asked her was about the overall layout of the page, as I was having trouble changing it. I was told that since I added a picture as the background of my main page, it became its own layout and that it would go away if I changed the layout. The picture isn’t really that important, so I decided to switch it up and pick a new theme. I picked the Intergalactic theme as it gave the site a better and cleaner look. I also decided to change the header image to something that reflects what my blogs consist of: Soccer! The picture consists of a Brazilian team celebrating a win with their fans

I also changed my header from ronaldchavarriasportsblog to just ronaldsportsblog, because it didn’t fit the screen! Another tip she showed me was how, instead of just stacking the photos in my blogs, I should have them sit next to each other using the gallery feature. She linked a Google doc showing where it was. It was really helpful as it made it easier for the reader to see both pictures side by side instead of making the blog longer and having you guys scroll. It’s a small adjustment, but I feel it’s a bit more time consuming.

As I mentioned earlier, she said my blog was pretty good and with the small tips that she gave me, I feel as though I have made my blog a bit more presentable to the audience (you guys).
