I engage in communities on a global scale sometimes I am able to do it locally but I feel as though social media and other communication platforms help. The importance of engaging in your communities is to expand your knowledge and improve communication with other cultures. We should not be simple-minded when it comes to matters of being culturally diverse.

I believe I went to a cultural festival in my hometown a few years back and it was interesting to learn some of the differences between America and Spanish speaking countries. Honestly throughout the event I learned that they have more life and excitement compared to ordinary people. Sometimes I find it hard to believe but they just light of when they tell so many stories of the dead, their festivities, and even their sports. I can tell they wear their roots with pride and never shy away from any topic. What I found interesting of part of the festival when they honored the dead in my opinion I always thought that tradition is a bit weird but its more colorful. It was to make them feel like their loved ones were alive again it was like a birthday celebration for the dead.
