interpersonal communication

In this section, I will talk about my talk abroad session where I talked about my family. Another assignemnt I will mention will be the lingo learning assignment about how they benefit and what is important to Spanish-speaking communities. I think it helps me further and understand how people can communicate differently even if you do not understand.

During the talk aboard session, I spoke with someone from Salvador and I really enjoyed our conversation. I did stutter a lot which is something I need to work on. My brain tends to overthink the conversation while I was speaking. I was able to play off of what our interests were and what our families do. If I was trying to pronounce a word she was able to help me move the conversation along. It did help me grow a little confidence when I was nervous it was not bad. I think my most challenging thing would be to have more questions to move the conversation along. Learning what was important in the Spanish-speaking communities I found it simple and funny at the same time. It was soccer and Family which I thought were cool to have. It’s not always about traditional values or anything is what I learned. They have more things in common like any other American family.
