Interpersonal Communication

An example I will be using is my Talkabroad conversation about stereotypes and identity. It was a very interesting conversation because it was a open space where we can talk about it openly. It was nice hearing a different perspective about what stereotypes mean in their country and community. Another example I will use is my lingrolearning unit 17 on stereotypes, which was audio assignment on my response to a video from the unit.

During my Talkabroad assignment I was a bit nervous because during the conversation I was supposed to listen and comprehend what my partner was saying. A little funny miscommunication in the beginning because I was overthinking about what she said even though it was a simple question. I fell like the most difficulty of any speaking assignment is forming the questions because I had to be careful with tense and grammar. I overcame that problem with using some of the discussions boards and homework as a guide based off of the topic. I was glad it was something that we did in class so taking guidelines and notes were helpful to navigate me. It did help me excel I was just expanding on the topic more with my vocabulary and speech. In the Lingrolearning Assignment I was able to listen to what other stereotypes exist wether they are good or bad. Some things I agreed to and others I did not but then I did learn that people can combat stereotypes in different ways. These assignments did help me grow and were able to go together for my Talkaboard. It helped me to learn differently by listening to others input about the topic and it was refreshing to hear another opinion instead of my own.
