In this section, I will be using a travel blog post from unit fourteen of my vocabulary homework from lingrolearning on art and history. Another example is a welcome flyer from unit twelve of my vocabulary homework from lingrolearning.
The travel blog post was to help broaden my vocabulary for describing art and talking about history. I have learned how to describe a painting but I was never able to practice speaking about the history of things. Most of the vocabulary would revolve around some art history or historical event. In the end, the article required me to do reading comprehension in order to understand the purpose of learning art. I believe it became easier when I focused on discovering what the painting looked like before I could do more background into where it came from. Understanding what I was reading and applying the knowledge became difficult to put into words for myself. Another assignment was a welcome flyer for a nature preserve. It did help me understand the purpose of ecotourism and certain policies some countries have for tourists when they go site seeing. The purpose of the assignment was for me to use my vocabulary to complete the ad information. I was able to make it a little easier by using context clues to help out minus the fact that I mixed up two words but it all worked out. I had to remember the do’s and don’ts of what you do while at a nature reserve. What would I do better next time I should be more hands-on and maybe practice these methods myself such as making a travel blog or flyer.
