With unrestricted access to the internet on work computers and other devices, it is easy for employees to log onto websites that are inappropriate for work such as Facebook, Amazon, or Netflix. It can affect labor costs and even pose as an information security risk if something dangerous or illegal on those websites were to be leaked into the company’s database. Companies should take proper protocols to limit workplace deviance to both protect their information from being leaked and encouraging professional and safe usage of cyber technology for their employees.
