Deviance is committing acts that are not usual or acceptable in society today. So, when you throw cyber technology into the mix, you’ve entered a realm that has multiple attack avenues that could be harmful to a company. When you have an employee that decides to cause damage to the company using cyber technology, you can pinpoint where the attack is coming from, but if someone decides to hack into your system, the possibilities of finding out who did it is slim. Every year as an employee you receive cyber training on different scenarios on what is acceptable and what isn’t when it comes to using company assets and even though you get this training yearly, there will always be that one individual who will find their self-causing damage to the company. A video that I think all company’s use is the one about the disgruntle employee stealing information from the company after not getting a promotion or raise that he or she felt they deserved. This action sets of an emotional trigger that causes those individual to go into deviance mode. So, as it stands not only can the employee do damage, but it goes back to my original remarks that they can open a door for a hacker to do the deed on their behalf.

When an employee acts like this, they know that what they are doing is wrong and there is no explanation on why they did it. Your company will find you guilty because you took the annual training and signed it, stating that you understand. To sum it up, cyber technology has created a plethora of ways for someone to commit deviance acts in the workplace today. This could be from an honest mistake to an all-out assault on the company to vindicate them on the wrongs they felt were handed to them
