Unless you’re hiding under a rock or living off the grid cyber technology has a footprint in everything we do today from banking, to exposing your personal information and national security. Trying to avoid offenders has become the obstacle of everyone today but the game isn’t fair if one side is playing by a different set of rules. Cyber criminals have made it their goal to exploit any advantage that the system has provided to them and most of the time there isn’t much we can do to protect ourselves. In the old days when you got robbed, you were at least able to see the person in a mask when they violated you but due to cyber technology your offender doesn’t even need to be in your presence. You can be taken advantage of by someone in another state or country if you are not aware of your situation when you’re in the cyber world.
In my opinion the development of cyber-policies and infrastructure has been a slow process and we need to tighten the loopholes that criminals are exploiting today. It’s not like we haven’t seen the types of crimes that are being carried out, so we have a foundation to build upon. Creating organizations locally and around the world would slowly be able to monetize the crimes and show criminals that their free pass to do whatever they want has come to an end. To achieve this goal, we the people and the government must come to some sort of agreement, and we already know that this is the biggest task of them all. As I’m writing this somewhere in the world, the government is debating on laws that work for one side, but not the other. People will always agree to disagree until the issue affects something that is dear in their life.
