Application of the Principles of Science

In cybersecurity, the principles of science can be applied in multiple ways. The principle of parsimony centers around simplicity. When developing and testing methods of preventing malicious attacks in the cyber world, it is important to keep the principle of ethical neutrality in mind. The ways that these new preventative technologies should not negatively affect others.

Another important principle of science is the principle of determinism. In terms of cybercrime, this principle can be used to determine and predict future methods of attacks. Of course, these predictions are not foolproof, as actions such as the development of new methods interrupt any previously established predictability when they are done.

While these principles are only two of many different scientific principles, these are two examples of ways these principles can be applied to cybersecurity.
