Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a theory used in the psychology field that states that human motivation to fulfill their needs is done in a hierarchical way. This theory provides five different levels of these needs, starting with basic needs like food and water and then continues to become more advanced until reaching the top with self-actualization. This theory can be combined with personal experiences with technology.
The first level, which concerns basic survival, can be related to services like health-monitoring apps and wearable technology. Antivirus software and surveillance cameras can be applied to the second level, which addresses safety needs. The third level, love and belonging, can be related to social media and messages applications. Esteem needs, the fourth level can be applied to career networking and the fostering of esteem through social media means. The last level, self-actualization can be acknowledged through online learning opportunities and creative software.
