Am I an entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise. I would definitely define myself as an entrepreneur based on these traits. The reasons I feel that I fall into this definition vary. Firstly, I think that I am a very organized person. I also take risks that are well calculated and well-rounded. The reason why I feel like my character trait resides more with the definition is that I currently don’t have a business or product that I am presently selling. 

What is success?

Success can be determined very differently based on each individual’s goals. Personally, success is determined by how much I’ve accomplished in life at that moment. I feel that the definition of success has to be active. By active that it’s always changing as you progress through life. There should be a base layer of success, the basic bare minimum that should never change. For me, this is completing my four-year degree. But as I progress in life my goals will shift and my definition of success will alter. Knowing that I cant make a concrete definition of what success means to me. 

Am I a self-starter? How well do I follow through on my ideas?

A self-starter is an ambitious person who eagerly goes after what is desired. I feel that I am a self-starter. The reason I believe I’m a self-starter is that I never really gave up on anything in my life. I’ve always had things come up and had delays or setbacks but I’ve really never truly given up. I feel that that plays a big part in being a self-starter, by having that determination and ambition. 

How does ODU view entrepreneurship?

ODU has a great view of entrepreneurship. They have various different courses and selections for entrepreneurs and encouragements for entrepreneurs. ODU has also a ton of opportunities and collaborative efforts for the entrepreneurs to offer a better understanding and to be helpful. 

What is my role in this ecosystem?

My role is to act as a student and learn the guidelines or guardrails. This is to better assist me in how I should follow through or complete tasks as an entrepreneur. I feel like this class and ecosystem has a lot to offer for my future in entrepreneurship. I hope to gain and obtain more knowledge on entreprenualship!
