The research showed the costumes, various musical instruments, props, and other specific customs for each celebration. Compared to the United States, it also has its own foods and dishes too. I noticed that both cultures have different values and attitudes within their fiestas. For example, Asado is a popular Argentina dish. I learned that every country has its own dishes and that we all should learn to be accepting of other cultures; especially of how diverse the United States is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"National Dishes of Latin America; A Latin American Food Fiesta!\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p6zzjHm_vVw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interpersonal Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TalkAbroad is a network for students to practice talking with a native speaker in select languages. It shares awareness of different cultures from another country and provides language exposure for oral proficiency. The most difficult part was finding the words to communicate with my conversation partner. I struggled with trying not to translate words that I listen to into the English language. I worked on trying to listen and use the word as the word itself rather than translating it. The thing that I would do differently is practice using the language more. I learned that I should practice speaking with others more, in order for my Spanish language to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Presentational Speaking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the course, there was a Flipgrid conversation, which involved having to answer a question in Spanish. We had to make sure we use complete answers and questions. We then have to practice as much as we need before recording the conversation. Play through the video that the professor has recorded in the background and then record our video so the final product is a completed conversation between you and the professor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/flip.com\/groups\/13632563\/topics\/33159715\/responses\/394365741\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of the conversations that were conducted, we completed assignments on Flipgrid. The Flipgrid assignments had us listen to a question in Spanish and we would have to record a response in Spanish. These were a bit less stressful because we weren\u2019t required to perform in front of a live audience, however, I did find myself wishing for live feedback. Waiting to get input when learning a language can be excruciating!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Presentational Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this course, a lot of the writing was done on our discussion board. We did, however, have a few compositions that were assigned to us. Our first composition required us to look at a grid of describes the actions that were being conducted in a video posted to us. The responses can be done in Spanish or English. I felt that this particular assignment allowed me to make visual connections with the Spanish vocabulary. It also allowed me to practice my spelling. I find the use of accent marks to be challenging because I have to remember where they go and when to add them when conjugating. This video varies from simple words to different conjugation of verbs. The generality of these quizzes on Canvas involves listening to the speaker and either selecting what I heard or writing it down. I did great on these kinds of quizzes and didn\u2019t have any problem hearing. These quizzes were on lockdown browser so there was no way that the quizzes might be recorded for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interpretive Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing we did in this course was read an article. Some assignments required reading, which created more opportunities for comprehension. Whenever I came across this issue, I would refer to the vocabulary tools in Lingro-learning. In order to supplement my learning even further, I read out loud. Even if I wasn\u2019t sure about pronunciation I still did my best to get through the readings.
