In high school I used to be in Army JROTC where I also was in more leadership positions. I used to be the S-1 for staff which was the second in command and had all of the paperwork done through me like imputing volunteer hours, the ribbons everyone received, etc. out of a 100-150 person unit. The amount of dedication that I had during Army JROTC was reflected when I went to the naval academy for their summer seminar and when I applied for the naval academy. One of the requirements was to get a congressional nomination and I was one of the 3 people that were given a nomination in my county. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I led the Raiders team to a championship as the captain. Raiders is an army athletic team that competed in events like rope bridge, tire flip, 3 mile run, 1-1.5 mile weighted run, and an obstacle course that competed against schools in our area and could advance to the state level. We didn’t make it to state unfortunately but my team was the first raiders team at my school to even win a trophy. After that season I followed up as the team captain for the drone team and we had to be fast and precise while going through obstacles where me and my team again won another trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of time and effort that I put into Army JROTC was shown in the same way when I received a full ride scholarship with NROTC and the time that I have had here at ODU and I don’t doubt that it will be the same when I commission into the navy. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
