Describe ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe.

Every aspect of one’s life revolves around computers and technology in toady’s fast paced world. From transport operations, access to healthcare etc., technology affects every part of that.   There are many wonders and good aspects when it comes to computer, but there are also some bad aspects also when it comes to computers.

Computers have vastly improved how we communicate with one another.   Our technological marvels have let to new forms of electronic communications in the form of voice, emails, and even video conferences (i.e., Zoom).  This has led to reduced times in communicating with one another and getting information to where it needs to get to.  This has been a great benefit to our relationships to one another, educational purposes and to businesses also.  Communication plays a big part with this.  There can also be some bad issues that relate to this also.  We can lose sight of the physical world around us.  Examples of this would be immersing oneself in social media (i.e. Facebook). This can lead to a person having fewer social skills when one must communicate outside of the tech realm.

Computers and technology have also impacted the educational system in good and bad ways.  Computers have expanded ways in which can access information.   Online books, data bases, and other forms of information can now be accessed with the click of a mouse on the internet.  People can exhume vast amount of information now compared from before.  This also can help people by allowing them to attend online classes. They can then access the information for the class online also.  Computers have allowed people to access the information that they need when they need it.  While this type of access is a major form of convenience it also can make us vulnerable.  When we are online a lot of times everything that we do, or access is recorded in some form or another.  This means that we are leaving “digital footprint” behind.  Cyber criminals are aware of this and often exploit this weakness and can do some viable harm to a company or a person’s reputation or can steal that data and sell it to the highest bidder.  I believe thought that the benefits outweigh the negatives in all of this.
