“Cyber” Engineers help by making cyber networks more secure and safe. These engineers are the backbone of any network. The engineer man the network to make sure that no cybercrime or other bad things are going on. They make sure no one tries to a “back entry” or penetrate the firewall or “introduce” a virus into the network. The engineers run tests and other things to make sure that a network remains “whole”. They do this by running software and making sure that information or date is encrypted so that stays secure. Engineers also sometimes perform penetration testing (cyberattack simulations) to see where certain weak spot in a network might be. This allows the engineers to further protect the network. This also helps engineers develop protocols and other procedures to make a network more secure. I think of these engineers’ sort like “cyber cops” for networks also. If something happens, then these “cyber cops” know how to proceed and to respond to correct any issue that may arise. They implement all of these skills to best know how to police the networks that they run. Another was of thinking of these engineers would be ton think of them as “network doctors”. These network Doctors do the best every day to make sure that their patient (the network) runs smooth and goes to treat whatever ailment that they might possess. These engineers also play another important role in that they can educate other people on how to use, access, and practice safe habits when online. This education can be as vital to network protection and the together duties that I described earlier. In all, we should come to appreciate and to admire the hard work that “Cyber” Engineers play in keeping a network safe.
