The number alone was enough to make me pause in complete shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past I have held positions that were fraud-based and even was working for a large company when a breach occurred within so even with that base knowledge, I was incredibly surprised. I believe researchers could benefit from the information provided on this site for multiple reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first benefit I can see for researchers collecting information on data breaches is to attempt to anticipate where a breach is most likely to occur. By being able to anticipate possible target zones I believe researchers could create better protective software to ensure that this does not happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another benefit I could see to this information privacy rights offers would be to see the types of companies that are targeted the most, whether they are successful or not.
