Four types of ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals are privacy and confidentiality, security breaches, implementation, and data inaccuracies. Confidentiality is when a company is trying to protect the information so that they are able to restrict access to those who are allowed to see it, but everyone else shall not be allowed to learn anything about its contents. This also goes along with privacy because others are not able to view private information due to confidentiality. Security breaches are any unauthorized access to a device, network, program, or data. There are so many different types of locations where breaches can occur there is BSF which is Businesses in the financial and insurance industry, BSO which is businesses in general, BSR which are businesses in the retail and merchant industry, EDU is educational institutions, Gov is Government and Military, Med is healthcare, medical Providers, and medical insurance services, NGO is nonprofits, and UNKN is unknown.  Implementation is steps to take to protect your data. When implementing you need to develop a cybersecurity strategy for your organization, create a detailed cybersecurity policy, back up and encrypt your data, use multi-factor authentication, create secure passwords and keep them protected, use the principle of least privileged, know is accessing your data, educate and train your employees, keep all software and apps up to date, and last but not least never underestimate hackers. By following these steps your software and data is less likely to be hacked or stolen. Data inaccuracy is the outcome of poor data entry practices. There are five ways your data can be inaccurate which is poor data entry, non-standardized data practices, insufficient and incomplete data, duplicate data and over-tracking, and outdated and ineffective systems. Once you become more aware of the common ways that data becomes inaccurate, you become better equipped to fix the issues.
