This was an interesting aspect of the assignment. The artifacts and what we had to do was very interesting and took me way out my comfort zone, which I think is always a good thing. So here are my artifacts starting with my least favorite and heading to my most favorite.
The least favorite archive I did was the interview preparedness. Mainly because this was not anything I would do, as my interviews are nowhere like this. They tend to ask questions about medical issues and how you solve them, but majority of my jobs have been through referral so the interview process was extremely quick, and it was more show me what you can do. Because anyone can remember what they need to say, but not perform it.
The next archive I din’t exactly like but it opened my eyes to my own prejudice, was archive 8. This was stereotyping and sometimes it is good to stereotype, like in medicine for patients who are in a sickle crisis we tend to order units that are from African Americans because genetically it is a better match. Same thing with Jewish people, when they suffer from Thalassemia it is good to have people who are culturally similar as it helps them recover faster. But also when I think of other races outside of my own, I have certain “expectations”. Like when we hear of a mass shooting, we automatically know the shooter is a white male. It is what they do, but in DC we had the sniper and everyone knew he was white. So when they said he was black, even my friends was like really, a lot of people where surprised. Stereotyping is used for crimes, when I was in San Diego me and my ex husband passed a checkpoint, because they weren’t looking for a black male, they were looking for a Mexican male. One of the few times my ex wasn’t racially profiled. It is pretty freaking sad that this is we are as a society. We shouldn’t even put so much on race, but in this climate we see how much people hate and have severe anger on those with different skin tones and heritages. It was sad how I have those stereotypes just readily available, but it is how we were raised that these things where just part of who we were growing up in America.
The next archive that is in the middle, and I am very neutral about is birds of a feather flock together. Mainly because even though similarity brings people together, I know in my group of friends it is a lot of differences in some we do clash, but we just agree to disagree.
So archive 11 is a good one because I was able to really think about the people I am close with and see how they are happy and if their are helpful. Most of the people I know about are unhappy, but that is basically because of this current situation. Normally they would be a lot happier and they would be willing to share the joy and be more helpful. But even with those who where unhappy they were still helpful regardless of how they were feeling. Even if it didn’t give them joy, they still were willing to help.
My favorite archive is 7, surprisingly. I have realized that my stress and anxiety has been decreasing, but at times I do have a spike, that I always have to calm myself down. It let me know that over the years I have learned to say no and keep it moving. Only allowing what I call normal stress into my life. Work, traffic jams and stuff like that. But mentally I try to cut down as many stress factors that I can.

I choose this picture because this is how I felt picking these archives! But it was a really good stress, that had me really figure out how I felt about these assignments.
