What prompted me to do this deed was when he asked me over the phone and after he was happy and thankful. I felt better after helping him than before. If I permanently practiced this one good act every day I would lose a lot of money. My second act of helping was when I helped my friend on her project. I decided to help because I know she wasn’t doing well in the class and could use any help she could get. After helping her I felt important. If I permanently practiced this one good act every day I may have less time to do my homework.

My third act of helping was when I held the door for a stranger. The person wasn’t walking far behind me and they said thank you after I held the door for them. Helping others made me feel pretty good. My fourth act of kindness was when I helped my boss by moving boxes at work. Afterwards my boss thanked me for which made be feel helpful. My fifth act of kindness was when I helped a stranger pick up their groceries that they had dropped. I know that if someone helped me in that situation, I would appreciate it. If I permanently practiced any of these three good acts every day my life wouldn’t change much.

Assignment 3

When comparing my means to the male gender I wasn’t surprised. For Ludus my mean was 0.6 higher than the gender mean, meaning I scored lower for that type of love than other men. For the remaining categories my mean was lower than the gender mean. I scored 0.3 lower in Eros, 0.4 lower in Storge, 0.6 lower in Pragma, 0.7 lower in Mania, and 0.2 lower in Agape. This means that because my means were lower than that of the gender, I scored higher in those types of love than most men.

I agree with my score for Eros because I have strong physical preferences for my lovers along with intense emotion behind it. Some of my relationships in the past would progress rather fast because of purely physical attraction. I strongly agree with my Ludus score too because I don’t like to decieve or manipulate my lover like some kind of game. I agree with my score for Storge because I believe friendships should come first so that the love is natural and gentle. Some of my most intimate feelings have been for a girl I’ve really gotten to know. I agree with my score for Pragma because I like to plan out my future with my lover if I feel like we are highly committed and feel like we could work out. I agree with my score for Mania because after I have grown to like someone a lot, the things that they do can bother me sometimes. Finally, I highly agree with my scores for Agape because I try not to ask for a lot when loving another person.

I chose this image because it represents the topic of this assignment, love.

Assignment 2

In the first photo I am represented professionally. I look like I am about to go into an interview for a possible job. In my second photo I am represented as a funny or goofy person. In the photo I had just gotten a haircut and I was throwing up a peace sign and smiling with my fresh haircut. In the third picture I am represented as someone who is athletic. I am in my football uniform and also frowning hard which makes me seem possibly aggressive to others. I have a polar opposite facial expression in comparison to the second picture.

In the fourth picture of my artwork I am represented as someone who is artistic and creative. As an artist I have my own style and that I can gather ideas and express them on paper almost effortlessly it seems. My fifth picture is a photograph of the sunset at Whitehurst Park. In my free time I like to walk there because it’s close to campus and it helps me clear my thoughts. Based on this picture I would say that I as a photographer I have a good eye and like to be surrounded by nature. In my last photo I am shown embracing my dog Cookie. This represents me as an animal lover who cares deeply for his pet.

This is the first photo I described for this assignment.

Assignment 1

Representative Heuristics is when the more an individual resembles a given group or category, the more likely they are to belong to that group. An example would be if you walked into a High School and observed a student resting his legs on a desk, while talking loudly, and blowing bubble gum. If you assumed that that student was a delinquent, then this would be a good example of representatives heuristics. This form of processing can be flawed due to the fact that we tend to ignore base rates(frequency at which each category occurs in a population. Availability Heuristics describes our tendency to use the information that comes to mind quickly and easily when making decisions about the future. An example would be if I was deciding on if i should go to the mall but I decided not to go because last time I went, the power went out in the whole mall. Due to the fact that I let this easily accessible memory weigh heavy on my decision to go, this would show availability heuristics. This heuristic can lead to bad decision-making because memories that are recalled are insufficient for predicting future events.

Anchor and Adjustment Heuristics is when we are lead to use a number value as a starting point from which we make adjustments. An example would be If I set a time for when me and my little brother are supposed to leave the house but later on I adjust the time to favor me. Status Quo is the preference for the old rather than new. The “new” receives closer attention and flaws seem more obvious. An example of this would be if I decided to get a Big Mac at McDonalds rather than a new double-cheeseburger. Due to the fact that the Big Mac has been in existence longer, I would have used it as a cue to its quality. This can be unreliable sometimes because sometimes trying new products is the only way you can see which is better.

Assignment 4 My first act of helping was lending money to my brother so he could buy some food.
