The major I am pursuing is Dental Hygiene  

The reason that I chose Dental Hygiene as my intended major is because growing up, I have always liked going to the dentist’s office. So, when it became time to figure out what I wanted to do I first wanted to be an orthodontist until I saw how many years it took to become one. I still wanted to be in the dental field so that is when I chose that I wanted to be a hygienist. During my junior and senior years of high school, I went to my school district’s Technical & Career Education Center and was in the dental assisting program. In this program, you learn a lot of things such as laboratory and material skills such as head and neck anatomy, making impressions, assembling anesthesia, Chairside assistance, etc. Also, this summer I got my dental radiology safety certification. However, this summer I am planning to get a dental or hygienist assistant job.
