The reason I am doing well in chemistry is because in class we go over examples of different problems also in this class we use top hat so our professor will have pop-up questions, and this is a way to help me study because I am seeing several types of questions. For literature, we do a lot of reading and in our homework, we must answer the questions that are related to the reading but also what we are learning at the time. This has helped me find clues in the reading to help me understand what image the author is trying to portray. My study habits really have not changed that much Except for the location that I study normally on days that I have my 8 AM class I like to go grab breakfast and study in the web center while it is quiet on days, I’m not on campus so early I tend to go to the library and do any work for class. My study strategies are still to look over notes during class breaks but not if I start to get stressed out, I like to give myself a break and look through my phone for a few minutes.

Transition to college:

My expectations were that college is extremely hard, that in college your professors will be very harsh, that all your classes will be huge, and that in a lecture hall. Also, I thought that I would be stressed out with work to the point where I could not hang out with friends on the weekend. Some of my expectations have come to fruition such as you have a heavy workload not in the way of how many assignments just in the aspect that in your assignments you must be able to go more into depth. While in college I have also found out that it is manageable to get all your work done and still be able to hang out with friends during the weekend.

Major:

One thing that I learned about my intended major is that you can expand your career path by being in dental hygiene such as getting your master’s so that you will be able to become a professor or even become a health educator for oral care brands. As of right now, my feelings have not changed about my intended major. I am still interested in getting my degree in dental hygiene.

Connecting to Campus:

During my first semester, I had surprisingly good professors who were able to help me whenever I had a question. I also have had classmates that are in my learning Community class and whenever we get stuck on a class assignment or unit, we help each other. For me, commuting to campus can be challenging sometimes. The reason I say this is because I live 30 minutes away from campus so when I have my eight AM class it can be hard to motivate myself to get up and go to class even though I have not missed a day. Another thing is that sometimes there will be events happening down on campus, but I cannot go to campus so I feel like in not really living my whole college experience.

Considering your Pre-Semester Reflection, identify the changes you have made between the start of the semester and now, and how you are going to continue working on areas that you are struggling.
