My name is Travis Slaughter, and I am 30 years old. I am in my second year at ODU and my major is Computer Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering. I’ve worked the majority of my adult life in the restaurant business, working as everything from the dishwasher, to the head chef. With nearly 10 years of restaurant experience, I learned that working in restaurants wasn’t as lucrative as I would have liked. I met a beautiful girl along the way and started a family with her and it became a struggle to keep up with the financial needs that we had. I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a career that would allow me to be able to provide for my family, as well as live comfortably enough to enjoy our lives.
