Cybersecurity encompasses a broad range of programs and protocols. Four of these protocols that I can list and explain that are offered by Old Dominion University are Cyber Operations, Digital Forensics, Cybercrime, and Enterprise Cybersecurity. These four are all just small aspects that encompass something on a larger scale that can affect the nation as a whole.

Cyber operations by definition is to perform activities to gather evidence on criminal or foreign intelligence entities to mitigate possible or real-time threats, protect against espionage or consider threats, foreign sabotage, international terrorist activities, or to support other intelligence activities. Now in real life scenario that can range from espionage through online tracking or something as simple as watching someone through a camera that has an audio function to see if they may disclose any action which can be monitored from anywhere on any part of the globe long as there is a means to access said cyberspace.

Digital forensics is something I found very interesting because it deals with recovering evidence through cyber means or through digital devices like what they may use in court to expose someone through text messages they may have sent or an email that was deleted and now recovered to be shown to the general public to expose said criminal.

Cyber Crime is the study of cyber laws and computer crime investigations which is becoming a very prevalent thing now in todays society due to the growing of social media and cyber bullying as well which has been on the rise which some people have actually been arrested for.

Enterprise Cybersecurity is just everything that is used to protect a corporations data, resources, and its clientele from cyber attacks. Most companies do use these methods as well like Karma credit score for example will even notify you if someone tried to use your email and it wasn’t you and it tells you directly down to the last bit of address where this person tried to access your account from.
